If you haven’t been pumpkin picking yet, check out Y Worry Farm. We have been going here for a few years now, and my kiddos always have a blast! Y Worry is on Davidsonville Road / 424 just north of route 50, on the west side of the road. Going south on 424, you make a right onto Rossback Rd, and then the first left into the farm. There is plenty of parking, and portable toilets. The farm provides wagons for people to put their pumpkins in. In years past, we always went when the park opened, and it was a struggle to get a wagon. This year, we went much later in the day, and our timing was perfect! Fewer people and plenty of wagons! Go later in the day, late afternoon if you can!

Once we had snagged a wagon, we let the kids explore before we headed to the patch. In addition to the check-out tent, there is a concession stand, chickens to visit, a corn maze, and a tower of hay bales to climb. We were here with two other families, and we had 7 kids scaling the hay bales. Pebble, especially, loved the structure. She was also fascinated with the chickens.

Leaving the birds and hay bales behind, we rounded up our kids and went to look for pumpkins.

Pebble picked the first pumpkin she saw and didn’t change her mind!
Rainbow had the hardest time choosing, she really wanted a pumpkin that was perfect in her eyes.
Stormy was also very choosy, but she was happy with the pumpkin she settled on.

Once everyone had selected their pumpkins, we turned the kids loose to navigate the corn maze. It isn’t a big maze, there are few ways to get lost, but the kids loved running through it over and over again. I know I did the maze with Pebble at least twice as did my hubby. As for Stormy and Rainbow, I have no clue how many times they ran through it! At one point, Rainbow came out with an ear of corn. She insisted that said corn be in the shot of our family that a friend took!

This is near the corn maze, and kids can “become” Max from the Wild Things! Super cute!

Honestly, we just let the kids burn off steam. They moved from the maze back to the hay bales. This time they got creative. They would gather handfuls of loose straw from the ground, climb the tower, and throw the straw in the air simultaneously. It was a hay storm, and the kids couldn’t stop giggling!

For a solid 45 minutes the kids bounced between the hay bales and the corn maze. They emerged at the end covered in straw with grins a mile wide. It was an amazing outing with so many good memories! Please check this wonderful farm out! Happy trails!
