Meadowbrook Neighborhood Park is one of Prince George’s County’s Imagination Playgrounds, and is often better known as the Nature Climb Playground. It is located at 3531 Moylan Dr., Bowie, MD 20715. There is no parking lot and no facilities, it is street parking only, and I’ve never had an issue finding a spot along Moylan Drive. When you first pull up, you won’t see the playground, just a yellow gate across a paved driveway. There is also a wooden sign that says, “Meadowbrook Neighborhood Park.”

Follow that paved driveway back past the tennis courts, and you will see the playground. This is one of our favorite playgrounds as there are a lot of trees that help keep the place shaded in the summer. Plus, there are these ginormous boulders that the kids can climb on, although check for broken glass around them first!

The playground has a play structure for the littles, and one that is geared toward older kids. There aren’t monkey bars, something Stormy was sad about, but plenty of other things to climb! Stormy had a blast climbing up and down the sliding pole. There is also a giant rock that kids need to cross over to access both areas of the older kiddo’s play structure. If you have littles, keep an eye on them here as the drop from that rock is pretty high! Pebble could cross it without help, but felt safer holding my hand or crawling across it.

On this breezy December day, we met friends here, and all 5 kids ran amuck for over an hour. The swings were a huge hit as was a hollowed out log tunnel, but the biggest hit, no surprise here, were the boulders outside the play area. All of the kids were scrambling up them, jumping off of them, and jumping from rock to rock. There are no picnic tables that I could see, but plenty of benches. If you get a chance, please check this wonderful playground out! Happy trails!
