It was a cloudy, cool Tuesday morning, but Pebble wanted to visit a playground, a new playground. I dug around on the internet, searching for ideas, and came across Riverwood Park in Davidsonville, MD. The exact address is 1530 Morgan Road, Davidsonville, MD 21035. You will want to use the GPS to locate this park as it is tucked back inside a neighborhood off of Central Avenue. When you pull through the park gates, follow the road as it curves to the left, and you can’t miss the playground to your left. There is ample parking, but no facilities other than a lone porta-potty. The picture of the playground on the website is of the old playground before a renovation. The new playground is brightly colored, and tucked up under the trees, giving it ample shade.

Pebble and I donned hats and warm jackets after stepping out of the car. I also grabbed a towel just in case the equipment was still wet from the rain the night before. Thank heavens for that towel as the playground was sopping wet! While Pebble explored, I dried off the slides, of which there are 3, plus whatever else Pebble wanted me to dry off. It isn’t a huge playground, but there is plenty of fun to be had! In addition to the slides, there is a swingset with a double swing, baby swing, and two regular swings. There are also two fun pieces of equipment that spin in circles, plus plenty of things to climb, including two sets of monkey bars.

Pebble played for a bit, before she wanted to take a walk to find nature, her words. We did part of the perimeter trail, Pebble toting a giant stick the entire time. She also found plenty of acorns and dried leaves to add to her collection. Daffodils were blooming, adding spots of color to the park. Other than one other family, the park was quiet and empty. I’m sure being inside the neighborhood, away from the main road keeps the number of visitors to a minimum. After an hour or so, we headed home as it was approaching lunchtime. We had a fun time checking out the new to us playground as well as the trail. It is neat little playground to visit. Happy trails!
