Pebble and Rainbow were clamoring for a playground this morning, so we decided to go exploring! We love Prince George’s County’s Imagination Playgrounds, and have explored many of the ones close to home. This time, we went further afield to Cheverly, MD to the King and Queen Playground. The playground is tucked back into the neighborhoods, and the best way to find it is plug the address into your GPS, 5610 Euclid St., Cheverly, MD 20785. The GPS will take you to the Cheverly Swim and Raquet Club. Look to your right…. You will see a sign that says Cheverly Euclid Neighborhood Park. Turn right down a long driveway. It ends at a parking lot next to tennis courts, and you will see the playground.

As soon as I parked the car, the kids were out and off like a shot! They couldn’t wait to explore! They had a blast clambering up and around the castle shaped play structure, and down the dragon slide.

There was a drawbridge with some bounce to it, and a super neat rope bridge.

Rainbow soon discovered the treasure hunt, and set off to search the nooks and crannies of the “castle.” We were successful in our quest to find all 8!

In addition to the castle, there is a smaller tot sized play structure, plus a swing set and a log to clamber across.

If you play on the tot structure, look for the dinosaurs! Stormy found this, and asked why there were dinos at a king and Queen themed park!

For the most part, my girls explored the larger structure and swung on the swings. The swings had a lot of appeal on this hot day as it was the only part of the playground that still had some shade. All 3 spent a lot of time playing on the park’s largest slide, too.

Pebble loves to climb up slides, but we only let her when a park isn’t extremely busy and when other kiddos aren’t trying to use the slide!

We spent a good 90 minutes in here, and we only left because Rainbow’s face had turned beet red from the heat. Pebble was also getting tired, as was Stormy. All three have asked to return on another, cooler, day. Just as a heads up, there are no bathrooms here. There is a porta-potty, but my girls used the travel potty instead. Def check this playground out! Oh! If you come in from 202 via Cheverly Ave., look for the dinosaur! Rainbow spotted it on our drive in, and we didn’t know what she was talking about! We saw the Dino on our drive home! Happy trails!
