Whew! That title might be longer than this post will be! It was a cold and blustery Monday morning in late February. Rainbow and Stormy were already off at school, and Pebble had plenty of energy to burn! We went first to Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, MD to run an errand. While we were there, we popped into Bass Pro. We didn’t need anything in there, but it is a fun shop to explore. Pebble, especially, loves watching the giant catfish swimming in the tank, and she always stops to check out the display in the center of the store. She likes identifying the animals, such as the moose and the beaver, and watching the waterfall.

When Pebble tired of exploring the store, we headed for the car, and drove over to Friendship Park to watch the planes at BWI. Friendship Park is easy to find, it is located at 1911 Dorsey Road in Glen Burnie. On our last visit here, we watched as planes flew over the playground and landed at BWI Airport. This time, after we parked and walked over to the playground, we discovered that the planes were taking off at BWI and then flying over the playground. Pebble would stand on the upper level of the playset or the small hill next to the playground watching as the planes roared down the tarmac and took off. She quickly learned to identify the blue planes as Southwest planes.

In between watching the planes, Pebble played happily on the playground. She tried the slides out, climbed everything that could be climbed, and we had a great round of mommy monster chasing her around the equipment. Unfortunately, the wind here on the open field was intense, even with hats and gloves! After only 30 minutes, we had to pack it in as our fingers were frozen stiff! Funny how on one of our last visits, we shortened our visit due to the heat, and now we had to do so due to wind. At least Pebble got a chance to run around outside in the fresh air. It is a cute little playground, and, if your little loves planes, it is a great park to visit! Happy trails!
