I blogged about this awesome park back at the beginning of the pandemic when we came here to hike. This time it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in late September. I had told the girls we were going to Sandy Point State Park, but discovered an event was going on, and entry fee was $20! Umm, no thanks! We headed south instead to Beverly Triton Nature Park. We had never been to the beach here, but decided to check it out, plus it is free!

After parking, I loaded myself down with beach gear, and gave the kids their sand toys to carry. The beach isn’t close to the lot, and we didn’t have a wagon with us, but I knew my kids were capable of walking the distance. Just as a FYI, there are portable potties near the lot, and there might be one down closer to the water, but I can’t remember. Per usual, I brought our portable for the kids.

We had a lovely afternoon here! It wasn’t crowded, just a few other families spread out along the sand. The kids played in the warm sands, and, inevitably, ended up in the water. This is a natural shoreline, and, as such, this is not a swimming beach. Wading is permitted, as is picnicking at the beach. No fires are allowed, and there are no grills.

There are a series of small jetties located out in the water that the kids discovered they could wade out to. Signs are up stating that climbing the rocks is forbidden, but there is a small sandy area to explore.

View of the beach from the jetty…

Pebble and Stormy were the ones that were in and out of the water the most. Rainbow enjoyed wading for a bit, but preferred to explore the shoreline more.

She found a heart shaped rock!

Normally, at this point in my blog, I’d be telling you to check this place out. Trails are gorgeous as is the beach area. I just found out, though, that parts of the park are closed and there is no parking due to construction that won’t be completed until November 2022! It will be a wait, but the renovations they are completing will improve access to the park. There will even be a paved and enlarged parking area. Put this park on your bucket list for a future visit once construction is complete! Happy trails!
