One of our favorite places to see holiday lights is Urby Drive in Crofton. My children never tire of driving down the street, and pointing out their favorite decorations. Some of the homes on this street have inflatables that are several stories high. It is amazing! Back in 2020, the homeowners on this street created the Crofton Christmas Holiday Trail. It was one of the highlights of our pandemic subdued 2020 holiday season. When I found out this scavenger hunt was back on again in 2021, my entire family was excited!

The night of the scavenger hunt, we dressed warmly as it was a brisk night. We drove to Urby Street, which was jammed with cars! We found street parking on Good Hope Drive, and walked back to Urby, and then up it until we found the giant Rudolph & Clarice inflatables where we picked up copies of the scavenger hunt. We had 5 locations to locate, all within Crofton, and, at each, a holiday item to collect. Those holiday items ranged from stickers, to mini stockings, to bracelets, and jingle bells.

It was a magical evening, and there was so much to see! Pebble loved seeing two Paw Patrol inflatables, while Rainbow asked if we could get a Christmas unicorn inflatable for our front yard. At one stop, there was super cool old wooden sleigh that people could get up in for pictures. I thought it would be a great place to get a photo of my 3 girls together, but… Why can’t children all look the same way at the same time without making strange faces, lol! Maybe next year I’ll get a better shot…maybe.

We did the entire scavenger hunt in just over an hour, and then we drove home to thaw out. Brrr! I took a picture of everything we collected, and posted it on Facebook as a public post with a check-in at Crofton Christmas so that we’d be in the raffle. Last year, we’d won one of the prizes, a gift card to Frank and Luke’s N.Y. Pizza Kitchen, but sadly not this year. I think a lot more people were doing the trail this year, too, compared to last year, so our chances were much slimmer on winning one of the raffle prizes. Frankly, we did the event because we love doing scavenger hunts, and we love a chance to do something together as a family. Hopefully, the Crofton Christmas Trail continues next year. Happy trails!
