Good morning! I wanted to take a moment, and give an update on this park, which Pebble and I first visited in November of 2021. I realize now that I neglected to give the address of the park in my first blog post. Whitemarsh Park is found at 16500 Whitemarsh Drive, Bowie, MD 20715, near Sportfit and the Bowie Playhouse.
On this visit, we had Stormy and Rainbow along for the ride as well as my husband. At first glance, it looked like nothing had changed in the year plus since we’d last visited. Then I realized that the M&M jumping pads that spelled out the word BOWIE were gone. In their place were simple colored circles. I’m not sure what happened, but it was disappointing as it was a cute idea. Pebble could still jump from circle to circle, but she liked the three-dimensional M&Ms better.
Stormy and Rainbow enjoyed their first visit to Whitemarsh, exploring the small playground, climbing everything they could. This was a short visit, no trail time, just a solid hour of playtime to burn off energy. It is a cute park, and very clever how the playground took on the theme of the park itself with equipment like a football helmet climbing structure and lacrosse sticks with netting to clamber across. We had a fun visit, soaking in the fresh air, before we headed home so mom could start dinner. Happy trails!
